i bought the zune on its release date in hopes of it living up to what all it was capable of. i have regretted it a bit ever since. it is not a bad mp3 player by any means, it is just nothing great. it does not have a custom eq which for most people is not a big deal, but devastated me. it also requires the zune software to sync so it will not be likely that you will be able to share music via the zune with anyone if you wanted to. it also can not act as a removable harddrive, at least not without doing a bit of work to it. so in short, if you want something basic to just play music/watch videos, then the zune will do you, but if you are looking for something good, i would keep shopping around. i dont know what there is available really in this price range any more since i have been looking more at the $350 devices.
Try the Archos there cheap no software needed plays off of windows media 11 or beter touch screen internet ($40 fee to start up internet then it's free after that) automatically updates available wirlessly when u hook to the internet works as a removable hard drive it makes up in places the Zune doesn't for cheaper and if ur crazy it comes in 160 gig and Jake if u look at this it even has a built in equalizer
