It will vary a little depending on the file type. If you are putting movies/videos from DVDs you will need a program that can handle DVDs. Most converters will cost money. You can try Super or the one Videora makes for Xbox. You can also use online sites like Voobys and Vixy.net to convert online videos.
Using Voobys
1.Go to youtube.
2.Find the video you want.
3.After the video starts, in the address bar replace youtube with voobys and press enter.
4.On the next site, you have the option download the Voobys converter and the video too.
5.Download the converter then the video.
6.When it gives you a chance to save the video pay attention to where you save it so you can find it when you go to convert it. When you save the video, give it a name you will recognize followed by .flv. For example: cats playing.flv
7.Install the Voobys program. When it opens click on convert and then browse for the video.
8.After you find the video on the main Voobys screen select wmv then click convert. It will save it in the same folder the original folder is in. Zune will reconvert this file if you don't run it through a converter again but now it is in a format you can use in Windows Media Player.
9.Open Windows Media Player. Import the file you converted.
10.Drag it to the time line and publish the video. Pay attention to the resolution. It should be no larger than 320×240.
11.Save the converted file to whatever folder you have Zune monitoring for videos.
There are a lot of steps listed but it is easy to use. If you use vixy.net you will see what to do. It's not hard to use. You can use Voobys to convert any flv file. You can also use Real Player to download videos. If you need info on how to do that then feel free to message me.
You can use Windows Movie Maker to convert a number of video formats to wmv. Make sure the resolution is no larger than 320×240. Pay attention to where the videos are being saved. If you use Real Player to
Put the converted videos in whatever folder you have the Zune program monitoring for videos. The Zune program will look there for compatible files there and import them into the collection. Then you sync your Zune.
